This blog is all about SMARTER Leadership. It is about leadership in its different facets and forms. Areas touched upon will include culture, family, and getting ahead in your career. Once in a while, you’ll find other topics thrown in. Consider those as ‘special break’ pieces as I like to celebrate people and events from time to time.

I think it’s difficult to pretend to be a leader if one can’t navigate through different cultures and in diverse situations in this multi-cultural landscape which has leant itself the term, ‘global village.’

Having a diverse background myself I have been encouraged to share my own experiences over the last few years. So I’m here to do more of that through my own stories and sometimes through lessons I’ve learnt from others.

I hope it will be useful for some, resonate with others, and maybe even eye-opening for a few.

In any and all cases, thank you for joining me on this journey as I pen down or type up my 400m race of leading through sometimes pleasant seasons, but more often in tough ones.

The journey will be full of small and big celebrations… that’s what makes it all worth it.

The 2021 International Women’s Day Theme is ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 World.’ And the narrative goes like this:

THE SECRETS TO INTRA AFRICA TRADE ACTUALLY WORKING.

The framework for successful intra Africa trade already exists. The seven action points highlighted are both my recommendations and my current views on the status quo. I conclude (unsurprisingly) that what is remaining is to continue to add value, improve the quality of goods and services, and then increase the scale, by getting stuck right in and refining the offer in good time.
